If you are dreaming of a wedding that feels immersive, personal, and truly unforgettable, Suzie and Jason’s celebration is such a beautiful example. Inspired by the atmosphere of 70s and 80s Hong Kong nightlife, their wedding blended vibrant cultural Korean and Chinese elements with a clean and modern sense of romance. From a music inspired photo wall that welcomed guests into the experience, to interactive moments that kept everyone engaged, every detail was thoughtfully designed to reflect their story. The result was a celebration that felt not only visually stunning, but also full of joy.

Tea Ceremony
They began the evening with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony. It was a beautiful and meaningful start that set the tone for everything that followed.
First Look + Outfit Change
For the reception, she changed into a classic white gown, bringing in a touch of Western fusion into the wedding. Of course the first to our gorgeous bride was the groom which resulted in a sweet and intimate first look.
Music Inspired Photos
After their first look the couple went off to take these stunning couple portraits in front of the 70s and 80s Hong Kong Speakeasy inspired photo wall.
Reception Room Reveal
As guests entered the reception, they were welcomed into a fully transformed space. Emerald, red, and gold tones paired with soft florals and warm lighting created a setting that felt both elevated and vibrant.
Reception Moments
The evening quickly filled with life through heartfelt speeches, lively games, and live music. There was a constant sense of movement, connection, and celebration throughout the room.
Interactive Experiences
To reflect their love of gaming, the couple designed a series of interactive activity stations for their guests, including casino tables, a live Street Fighter match, and a playful betting experience. With a lively photo booth and immersive entertainment throughout the evening, every guest felt part of the celebration.
Cake Cutting
The night ended with a classic cake cutting and a few other fun foods, a sweet and joyful moment that brought everyone together one last time before the celebration came to a close.
Fun Facts About the Couple
If you are looking for ways to make your wedding feel more personal and interactive, this is such a fun idea to take inspiration from. The couple displayed custom “fun facts about the couple” wedding signage throughout the space, giving guests a deeper look into their relationship while adding a playful design element to the celebration.
Suzie and Jason’s story is full of personality. They met in a Chinese class in college and later both studied computer science together, a full circle moment that reflects just how aligned they are. While they once said, “we are so different,” they now laugh and say, “we are exactly the same.”
Their relationship is filled with small, meaningful quirks. The phrases “are you mad?” and “are you hungry?” are part of their everyday language, often followed by “are you high?” in moments of playful confusion. They even created their own language to speak only with each other.
They share a love for gaming, arcade nights, and staying in together, often spending entire days as self-proclaimed “couch potatoes.” Jason is a former professional gamer, which made the live Street Fighter match and gaming inspired activity stations feel especially personal to their story.
Food is also a big part of their relationship. They both love Asian cuisine, and as Suzie says, “I would not date him this long if he can’t eat kimchi.”
Even in their differences, they balance each other with ease. One plans ahead while the other packs last minute. “Suzie cooks, Jason cleans.” One believes in skincare and healing, while the other believes in “healing through playing Street Fighter.”
At the heart of it all, their love language is simple. As they describe it, it is built on “internal memes,” shared humor, and a deep understanding of each other that makes everything feel easy.
