Spain continues to be a favorite for destination weddings, and it is easy to see why. It offers beautiful cities, easy travel access, excellent food, and a wide range of stunning venues. Whether you are drawn to history, architecture, or a relaxed coastal lifestyle, Spain offers something for everyone.
After spending time in Valencia and Barcelona, we experienced two very different sides of Spain that we wanted to share with you in this blog!

Why Choose Spain for Your Destination Wedding
Spain is for couples who want a destination that feels exciting, full of culture, and welcoming. It is well connected to the United States, the UK, and Europe with direct flights into major cities. English is widely spoken in tourist and wedding settings, and the hospitality industry is well established.
Couples also love Spain for its value. Compared to some other European destinations, you can often host a beautiful multi day celebration without breaking your budget.
What Are The Popular Wedding Destinations in Spain
Some of the most requested regions include:
Barcelona
Valencia
Madrid
Mallorca
Ibiza
Southern coast of Andalusia.
Each offers a different vibe and atmosphere, which allows couples to choose a location that fits their style.
For this guide, we are focusing on Barcelona and Valencia, since these are cities we have personally explored and know best. We have helped hundreds of couples find the perfect venue for them, if you’d like to see how we can do this for you feel free to reach out HERE

Valencia
Valencia feels warm and grounded. It has a slower pace that invites you to enjoy the city rather than rush through it. Walking through the historic center, you feel surrounded by centuries of cultural history alongside everyday modern local life.
Landmarks like Torres de Serranos, the Valencia Cathedral, and Plaza de la Virgen create an immersive historical experience. At the same time, the city feels fresh and modern through spaces like Estación del Norte and Carrer de Colón.
One standout experience was visiting L’Oceanogràfic, which felt incredibly peaceful. Valencia is also home to the Central Market, where local food culture is unforgettably delicious. This is where we enjoyed some of the most memorable meals of the trip, including incredible squid ink paella.
Valencia is especially appealing for couples who are looking for a more cost efficient location. Dining, wine, and accommodations are noticeably more affordable, while quality remains high.
How much does it cost to get married in Valencia, Spain?
For couples traveling from the United States with 75–100 guests, Valencia offers strong value with high-quality experiences and slightly more affordable pricing:

(These are broad ranges; final costs vary by venue, season, and design choices.)
Valencia is ideal for couples who want a beautiful European wedding experience with more flexibility in their overall budget.
What your wedding can look like in Valencia, Spain:
Valencia is especially appealing for couples seeking beautiful venues with a more historic slow-paced atmosphere. Luxury estates such as Huerto de Santa María and other countryside properties in the Albufera region are known for their gardens, elegant courtyards, and relaxed atmosphere, making them ideal for multi-day celebrations.
Valencia is best for couples who want: A calm atmosphere, a historic cultural experience, excellent food, and great value for their wedding.

Barcelona
Barcelona has a completely different and unique energy. It feels vibrant, international, and full of movement. The city is rich in art, architecture, and creativity, and it makes a strong visual impression.
Walking through La Rambla captures the vibe of the city, while landmarks like the Basílica de la Sagrada Família leave a lasting impact. Inside, the light and scale create a powerful sense of awe.
For quieter moments, Montjuïc offers views of the city and a slower pace. Art lovers will appreciate the Picasso Museum Barcelona, which offers a view into Picasso’s early work.
Barcelona is also home to beautiful hotels and venues. H10 Casa Mimosa stood out as an elegant and peaceful retreat in the center of the city.
It is important to note that Barcelona is busier and more expensive than Valencia. That said, for couples who love art, architecture, and an energetic city feel, it can be an unforgettable setting.
